Band members will be excused directly after first period (B day(corrected)) on this day. Be aware that all class work must be made up. Please check with your teachers to make sure you do not get behind in your classes.
Students will go to the band room right after first period and get their instruments. Buses will load at 9:36 and leave by 9:45. Buses will drop us off on Parkview Drive behind the ball fields and next to the Community Center to line up on the fields.
Parade Route: Bands will join the parade from Community Center Drive, heading south on 3rd East. At Telegraph, turn right on Telegraph and head West on divided Telegraph – March on North side of divide and end at 1st West and proceed to 1st North.
Band will stay in formation and turn right on 1st North go west 1 block to get on the busses. We will return to school where we will put away our equipment and proceed to the softball park behind the schools. Approximately 12:30, we will eat pizza (or your sack lunch) at the park and celebrate the end of a great marching season. You may bring balls, etc. to play with. We will leave the park around 2:00 and return to the school around 2:30 PM.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Uniform for the next parades is BLACK PANTS! Gray or black shoes and socks and the SCMS Band/Color Guard T-shirt. You may wear a long sleeve shirt (or two,) that is white underneath for warmth. Please look your best—your appearance makes a huge difference and we are judged on it.
EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUMENTS:
All students are responsible for bringing their own instruments and equipment to the parades. (This includes percussion, color guard, and school-owned instruments). We will leave cases on the busses or at school. Please consider the safety of your instrument!
GRADING:
These parades will count 100 Points each toward your performance grade. Points may be deducted for playing out of turn, being late and/or doing anything that would be a bad representation on the band or SCMS--remember, you are representing Snow Canyon and your best is expected. When boarding the buses, be sure to check in with the parent volunteer with the clipboard, to get credit.
*Please bring a sack lunch if you do not want pizza. Water and a soda will be provided.
